Into Marvelous Light

Well, Spring is springing up here above the Arctic Circle. The ground may be covered in snow and the temperatures may still be below zero every morning, but it still feels like spring. You know why? Because the sun is shining! We have several hours more sunlight than we had in December and it really makes a huge difference.

Our spiritual life can be so similar to the physical, sometimes. When it's dark and gloomy, and you don't feel the presence of God or see His hand at work in your life, there's really nothing that can make you feel better. But, when you focus on the light of Jesus and His Word illuminated your life, there's nothing that can get you down. The light makes all the difference.

As we look forward to summer, here in Alaska, we continue to be amazed by and thankful for God's blessing, favor, and provision for the work that He has called us to. We have a few maintenance items to do on the church building, some improvements to make on the parsonage, and tons of planning to do for teams, camps, and outreaches. The future is bright and ripe with opportunities.

This month, I was able to take my kids, Lucas & Araya, to Wasilla with me. Lucas and I went to the Alaska Ministry Network Men's Camp at Little Beaver Camp in Big Lake, AK. It was a great time of seeking God, hanging out with other godly men, and throwing ninja stars and axes! Araya got to hang out with her aunt Cheyenne and help with the new baby.

While we were down that way, we decided to stay for a few extra days and help my brother and sister-in-law with some home renovation projects. I learned how to instal butcher block countertops, how to build a custom cabinet for a farmhouse sink, and how to fix builder's mistakes... (˚o˚)

Please help us pray for laborers in harvest. We have housing available, the community has jobs available, and the opportunities for salvation and discipleship are plentiful.
